EHS Officer - dublin

Our Client, a leading supplier to the foodservice sector are recruiting an EHS Officer to join our existing dynamic and successful team.

 

Role –

  • The successful candidate will promote and maintain a strong health & safety culture within the company. Develop and implement the company’s Health, Safety & Environmental policy, procedures and management systems to exceed the legal and corporate compliance requirements.
  • Facilitate site Safety Steering group and safety committee meetings.
  • Manage the control of harmful substances to comply with the Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor (DGSA) requirements include a process for classification, packing, marking and labelling of shipment is in compliance with the legislation for storage and delivery of hazardous materials.
  • Provide support to the processing activities on site.
  • Monitor and coach management and employees on behavioural based programmes, safety procedural requirements, incident investigation, risk assessment and safety inspection/audit.
  • Continuous review of incident data and trends to ensure adequate investigations are taking place and appropriate corrective actions and outcomes identified and implemented.
  • Will play a key role in maintaining the OHSAS 18001:2007 accreditation and managing the environmental/sustainability programmes.

 Key Attributes Required

  • Excellent problem solving, communication and presentation skills.
  • Must be able to work on own initiative in a very busy environment.
  • Will be able to demonstrate an ability to create concise reports, procedure and policy.
  • Computer literate with very good working knowledge of full range of MS Office packages.
  • Full clean driving licence.
  • Demonstrate excellent knowledge of the following – manual handling/ergonomics, incident investigation, COSHH, OHSAS 18001:2007, how relevant legislation applies.
  • Graduate Diploma in occupational Health & Safety or higher qualification.
  • Minimum five year experience in a Health & Safety officer role with a large organisation is essential.
  • Logistical / Warehouse experience desirable.
